Things to Do at Work

Ah, the workplace. A realm filled with people, tasks to do, and the mystery of where that puddle in the corner came from. A spill, perhaps? Did someone mop, and somehow the excess liquid collected in a dip in the floor? Is there an invisible crack in the wall that leaked water?
But I digress. Today's post is about the many things that a person may experience during a work day.

Plot Holes in the 'Santa Clause' Movies

Today's blog post, as the title suggests, is about the 'Santa Clause' movies. Starring Tim Allen, the same guy who glued his head to a table and blew up a house in the TV show 'Home Improvement'. (Luckily, his character in the 'Santa Clause' films is a tad less disaster-prone.) The first movie was released by Disney in 1994, and was later followed by 'The Santa Clause 2' in 2002, and 'The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause' in 2006.
'The Santa Clause' follows the story of a recently divorced father, who finds himself becoming Santa when the previous Santa Claus dies, and the father puts on the suit he finds an finishes delivering the toys. Turns out there's a Clause—a Santa Clause, to be more specific—which means that by putting on the suit, he agrees to the job of being Santa. The second and third movies chronicle his life after he's been Santa for a while.
The film series is popular for a reason. But if you look closely at the story, you'll find a few plot holes.

Returning From Hiatus

So, I kind of took an unannounced hiatus. I have no excuse for this, other than... I just didn't feel like it. Over time, I had been losing motivation. I lagged on my story writing, either not doing anything at all, or opening the document and accomplishing little to nothing. My weekly blog posts often got put off until the last minute. I would intend to write them earlier, but often that didn't happen. I'd pound them out late Tuesday night, sometimes so late it was technically Wednesday.

The Way Things Were

I want my father to come home.
I want him to walk through the door, dressed in his work clothes, smelling the way he often did when he came back from work. I want him to put away his lunch box, and change into comfortable at-home clothes, and put on his slippers he always wore because his feet were eternally cold.
Breakfast will be cooked and coffee will be made, and the family will all sit in the living room, and we'll watch 'The Price is Right'. We'll complain about the contestants' behavior and poor decisions, we'll make guesses on the prices of different things.

School Books

Since I was writing about homework last week, I got to thinking about other school memories. Like books, for example. Join me on a blast from the past, all the way back to... uh, about ten years ago. This is the age of Aquarius my school days, the stories of textbooks and paperbacks that teachers tried to educate us with. Grab your 3D glasses (that looks like sunglasses) and make some popcorn, because this will be a wild ride.

Okay, this is old-school 3D, not the more modern version. But doesn't this scene look epic?
